So whether your organization is an SMB, NPO or ministry, your first reaction to updates m,ight have been something like this:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><em>&#8220;Upgrade? Updates? How much more money will that cost&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Then you might remember that technically WordPress is <strong>free<\/strong>. And its updates are <strong>free<\/strong>. So there is no monetary reason for not taking advantage of any WordPress update. The same applies to free themes and plugins. The updates are free. In fact, <em>the decision to use a free plugin or theme should be based on the fact it is being <strong>frequently updated<\/strong>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">If you have purchased a theme, plugin, or other add-on, its value lies largely in how well it is supported. At the point where it is no longer supported, it becomes a liability. <strong>Outdated or unsupported add-ons compromise the security of your WordPress site.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">So if you do not want to pay for support of a theme or plugin, I would recommend using a free theme or plugin (that is well supported).
